Technology in the Classroom Essay Example for Free
Technology in the Classroom Essay In the article ââ¬Å"Twitter Goes to Collegeâ⬠by Zach Miners, the authorââ¬â¢s main point is to show us how technology has been incorporated in the classroom, how it is being used as a way to get students involved, keep them engaged, and communicate inside and outside the classroom. However, many people fear of the harmful effects of technology usage in the classroom. Will students become too dependent on technology? Will they lose the ability to communicate with other people? Will it affect their ability to think? These were probably some of the same concerns when the phone, radio, and television were invented. In todayââ¬â¢s society technology is everywhere. It touches almost every aspect of our lives, our homes, and even the way we communicate. Yet most schools still seem to lag far behind when it comes to incorporating technology into classrooms. Many school districts have recently begun exploring the true potential of integrating technology into the learning environment. They plan on implementing technology into their lesson plans. They hope to provide a computer to every student from third grade to twelfth grade. By doing this it will open the door for educational opportunities. If properly used, technology will help students gain the skills they need to survive in a technologically advancing world. Incorporating technology into classrooms means more than just one class that teaches basic computer skills such as typing. In order for technological integration to be successful in classrooms, it must happen across the curriculum in ways that have been proven through research. According to Edutopia.org there are ââ¬Å"four key components of learning: active engagement, participation in groups, frequent interaction and feedback, and connection to real-world experts.â⬠Technology integration is effective when the use of technology is a routine. It is successful when technology supports curricular goals. Incorporating technology into classrooms is an extremely effective way to be able to model and visualize what is

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight:The First Swing :: Arthurian Legends English Literature Essays
Sir Gawain and the Green Knight:The First Swing In Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, a stranger rides into King Arthur's court with a challenge. This stranger, green in color from head to toe, proposes to play a game with a member of King Arthur's court. This game will be played by each participant taking a blow from a weapon at the hands of the opponent. The person that dies from the hit is obviously the loser. On top of this, the Green Knight offers to let his opponent take the first swing. This sets up the action in the passage beginning with line 366 and ending with line 443. Sir Gawain steps in to take the challenge after King Arthur first agrees to participate himself. Sir Gawain wants to bring honor to Arthur and asks permission to take his place. Gawain knows that he is not the strongest, smartest knight but the loss of his life would not be as bad as if King Arthur loses his life. King Arthur agrees to let him enter this game and gives him a weapon to use against this Green Knight. King Arthur says to Sir Gawain, "Keep, cousin what you cut with this day, and if you rule it aright, then readily, I know you shall stand the stroke it will strike after." (372-374) Gawain, with his weapon in his hand, is now ready to take part in the game. Before the contest starts, the Green Knight goes over the rules of the game again. He says that if he survives the hit from Gawain's ax, Gawain must search out where he lives so that he can take his hit from the Green Knight. When the Green Knight tells Gawain he must find the place where he lives, Gawain quickly asks, "What is the way there? Where do you dwell?" (398) The Green Knight refuses to tell, as this is part of the game. If the stranger survives Sir Gawain's blow from the ax, he will tell Gawain his name and the name of his dwelling.

Buying Tesla and the Social Class of Green Technology
Electric Cars are not a new concept, but are finally gaining a market share in todays car market. The middle and lower class have been encouraged to use much cheaper methods to educe their carbon footprint such as recycling, further confirming the previous notions of the ââ¬Å"Green upper class. â⬠Tesla claims to market to all buyers to build a customer base for the next ten years, however it is quite relevant that they target the base of people who can afford such high costs. The idea to create electric cars Is not new to the world, however the only way to make an act ual Impact on consumption patterns Is to locate more affordable electric vehicles, creating a Tesla line of ffordability. Tesla Motors is a multibillion dollar corporation that has the proper tools and minds to make an actual change happen on a global scale, however due to the high cost, still only the wealthy sector can currently afford these vehicles.
